We all know it is a fact, but we all do not actually know why? Why doesn't oil and water mix?

Although both are liquid, the molecular structure between oil and water are very different. So they cannot mix.We all know it is a fact, but we all do not actually know why? Why doesn't oil and water mix?
because both have different surface tension so when oil and water are mixed the oil tend to form oil globules which are less in density than water and rise to the top.We all know it is a fact, but we all do not actually know why? Why doesn't oil and water mix?
water polar, oil not polar...the differing densities cause them to settle out, oil on top of water. The liquids are not miscible with eachother.
oil and water do not mix because they don't like each other...dunno...it has been a long time since i actually cared what my crazy 100 year old science teacher was saying..and i doubt she even knew what she was saying...
different IMAF lead to diff solubilities.... ';like dissolves like';
