What is the best oil weight to use in a truck with 150000 miles on it.?

whatever you have been using all along as long as it is not burning oil and if it is go with a heavier weight oil. What is the best oil weight to use in a truck with 150000 miles on it.?
depends on your climate and how much oil it uses, if it's about 1 quart / litre every 3 to 5,000 miles you can't go wrong with a 5w 50 synthetic ( Quaker state makes one ) or a 5 w 40 , dont try the mineral oils for this extreme viscosity range , they just can't cut it . if your one of those fortunate ones that NEVER see freezing temperatures , 10w 40 is a good choice for a mineral oil otherwise 5w30 .i hope this helps .What is the best oil weight to use in a truck with 150000 miles on it.?
you can use 10w40 or they have high milage oil, thats what i use,or if you wish, you can use straight 40 high detergent oil.
what size truck and what size engine?!?!

inline 6 in a pickup- 10/40w

V-8 in pickup- 10/40w for the winter and 20/50w during summer
Listen to (mister ss)!! If what you have used got 150,000 mls. on this ride then you are using the right product .I say this thinking that at this point it is runnig good and burns no oil .You failed to mention these items.
You will find, if you wish to experiment, That heavier oil will cause you to burn MORE.
i own a repair shop and you need to use a good synthetic oil in it ,and it with high miles on it,,it will help it last a lot longer and run a lot better, this stuff cost more, but its worth it in the long run id recommend it to anyone who has a high mileage vehicle,,id use 10-w-30 synthetic in it,,Mobil one is the beat brand on the market right now,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
10W30, unless it's a diesel, then 15W40.
