The fact that the price of oil has shot up with no relief in sight?

compels me to ask this question. Will oil be a huge campaign issue this November in the 2008 election ?The fact that the price of oil has shot up with no relief in sight?
FACT: In 2005 the national average cost for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.68. Since the 2006 mid term elections where democrats won the majority in the House and the Senate, the price of gas has increased 171%.The fact that the price of oil has shot up with no relief in sight?
Because of the import tariffs imposed on US (the price is passed onto the consumer) for the importation of oil, better than 75% of the price of a gallon of gas is TAX.

Obama makes a big thing about the Oil Companies making a lot of profit on oil. They have a right. They prospect; they drill; they transport; they refine; they sell. Why should they not reap the reward?

On the other hand, the government is there with its hand out. What did it do to earn the tax money it steals from us? Let's look at the REAL money trail.

Obama wants to impose a windfall profits tax on the oil compamies. WHOM do you think really pays that tax? US!!!!!!!!!!!! The consumer pays it.

Let's get real. Let's close the ENRON Loophole, and also approve the Fair Tax. www.fairtax.org.

Oil is part of the economy, and the economy is already the #1 issue.
When people feel it in their pocket they start paying attention and usually loose patience with those who are making their life difficult.
I think the economy in general will be the biggest issue unless some kind of fear event happens.
Yea but they both seem to be the same on the issue for the

president, may make some difference in congressional seats
Hasn't it been already?
Damn Bill Clinton..its all your fault!

*shakes fist in the air!*
